Sub Sonic 9mm ammo

Does anyone know if the subsonic 9mm ammo will function properly in a Luger? I don't want to buy a box only to find out that it won't cycle the action.
Thanks.

I can't imagine it would have enough "kick". It is usually for single shots, or guns designed for it from what I understand.

It has less velocity because it has less powder or slower burning powder, although the bullet is usually pretty heavy, so maybe I am wrong?

Ed,
Try working out, [(Mass x Velocity) squared], for each load. This might give some indication, might not.
If they are close ? It might Reload.
But who knows it is a Luger, Ya Know.

The only reason that I could justify using sub-sonic ammo, is in a slienced weapon and if a PO8 has a sliencer attached to the barrel, the additional weight would require a complete evaluation of ammo power vs recoil spring strength. TH
