Value?
I have a 1917 Erfurt that was reissued as a police Luger. It has the sear safety, matching holster, matching takedown tool, and 2 matching magazines. Has no police stamps. It is a nice all number matching gun. What is the value of this? Thanks..........................Bruce

Condition! Condition! Condition! is everything when evaluating a collector piece Bruce.
Can you post photographs of each piece of this rig? This will enable a fair estimate of your Lugers value. |
will do, will put link on here tomorrow, thanks.................Bruce

Here are the pics. All numbers are matching.

It could have a police acceptance stamp, if I read the "marks" photo right, and it was small, it looks like E/WaA4 which could be a police, on the far right side. The photo comes across as a bit "plum" color which be could be the result of the camera or of a poor after market blue job. But if the blue is correct, and a result of the way it was photoed, I would say the price range would be $1,400/1,600.00. There are still several things too look at and consider before a rock solid price can be given, like how is the bore and is the holster repaired or original, still in all a very nice looking rig.

The pics are bad, it has an even bluing, no plum color. The pics make the grips look black, they are a dark wood. Bore is shiny, and holster original, all this per person that sold it to me. (Reputable Luger dealer here in PA)Thanks for your expertise................Bruce

I put one just like yours in my collection, only mine has only one clip and I paid $600.00 for it, but I would guess the value is now for what you have between $1200 and $1400. Value is what YOU wish to place on it,value will always grow. Regards Ron |
