What kind of Luger is this ??
 

Hi...First sorry about my bad english in writting, then sorry if i am on the wrong forum, but i am new here !!
To my quistion; i have two Lugers 9 mm. The one of them give me a headege, as i can't find out what model it til. The barrel is 6" cal is 9 mm. The gribs is unusal. It have the Mauser stamps on top, and is from 1917. I know that it was used during the 2 ww in Denmark, by a "animal-docktor" who used it to shot horses that broke legs by the building Bunkers, in the danish part of the atlantic-wall. After the war the P-08 was given to a resistand soldier of who i bourgt the weapon. Can anyone help me wit some detalis ??

Welcome to the Lugerforum.

Your 6" barreled Luger is obviously constructed of parts from several Lugers. It has been privately rebarreled with a most unusual barrel contour, and has been refinished.

The frame appears to be DWM and if the receiver is dated 1917 it is probably also DWM, but you would have to show us the proof marks to be sure it wasn't from another manufacturer like Erfurt or Simson... and you stated that the toggle is Mauser manufacture... This must be a replacement toggle because Mauser didn't make any Lugers until the 1930's. The grips are hand made.

If you can show us clear focused photographs of the stamps and markings on the various pieces of this Luger we can be more precise about the origin of the parts.

While some parts of this Luger may have served during WW2, I doubt that this gun existed in this configuration during that time, and has been rebuilt since that war by a private gunsmith or machinist.
