1937 S/42 Navy Luger
 

Hi John, John, and Ed,
Has anyone heard of a 1937 S/42 Navy. I just got one and was told that it is about the hardest Mauser Navy to find, way harder than a K-date or G-date Navy? I'm told that there are only 4 known of this variation. All were in the "S" block and all had strawed parts. This one has an "o" property mark. Has anyone else heard or know of another? Bill, I am not the one to answer, but I had just been going through all my books on a 1940 and saw remarks about later years. So I went back, of course nothing about Navy, except for a comment about German Commercial Navy pattern.. made in the hundreds, but by DWM in Walters book.

Hi Bill, when you say Navy, do you mean those with "M" acceptance or those provided to the Kreigsmarine with "N" and "O" designation. I don't know why I am telling you this, since you probably already know, but Still sez a few hundred were procured, mostly in the R and S Block. Yes, I've seen one. Frank has it correct -- only about 200 in s & r series, N or O but no M markings, strawed, according to Still.

I thought all the 1937 S/42s got sunk?
