Auction Arms pipe dream
I was going to email them to offer $450 for this gun, but then saw that it also has a reverve! Who would pay this much for a gun that should go to Ted for a restoration!AUCTION ARMS

I could see them getting the $700, but no more. Even at that price, you couldn't afford to have a restoration done because the gun wouldn't be worth what you had in it. For those that can D.I.Y., it could be a stunning Luger when finished.

Interesting. Wonder what happened to her? That much finish off, what could have happened is anyone's guess.
Actually it's a nice piece (historically speaking), but not worth the $700 and more like $400. |
I think maybe someone started stripping it for a refinish but never got around to finishing the job. Another possibility is an ignorant owner that cleaned it with steel wool year after year. Some areas that normally hold blue because they're shielded are bare, but others aren't. Like you say, it's anybody's guess.
