Take down lever problem?
 

I have asked this question before, but its bugging me and i need an answer. My DWM 1918 rework has one flaw. As you look at the gun from the front, you can see that the frame rails stick out ever so slightly (about 1/32) but on my other luger they are flush. I have seen this on other lugers too but not many. When i swap the take down lever with my other Luger it seems to be ok.
Is this caused because of the take down lever not
being the original to the gun? Also the frame does not seem to be filed down as others have suggested. Is this flaw cosmetic or a real problem? can i still shoot this Luger safely?

Bob, if I'm understanding you correctly, the locking bolt on your Luger is NOT original to the pistol and allows the slide to extend past the front of the frame slightly. Then, swapping the locking bolt with another locking bolt from one of your other Lugers squares everything up as it should be? Seems to me that you've answered your own question...... the locking bolt you have is worn or not matched to the pistol, allowing the receiver/slide to move forward too far. Replace it with one that fixes the problem.

I wouldn't fire it until I'd replaced the locking bolt with one that aligned the frame and slide correctly. Why take a chance?
