Nice Dutch Rig on Auction...
Interesting Dutch rig on auction with claimed Japanese provenance...

Pete:
I've looked at the Dutch a couple of times. Considered making a bid but it seems a little pricey, even with the nice holster, at an opening bid of $3000.00+. Ken D |
Wish I could just buy the holster. One of the nicest I have seen in quite a while.

Hello Pete,
In my opinion, it is a fine set indeed and it is seldom that a person can find such a nice condition and genuine 1906 Dutch. I always appreciate Lugers with good provenance and sometimes you need to go the 'extra mile' for a very good Luger, otherwise, the 'punishment' is to wait a few years until another one surfaces for sale. If I had some disposible income for those Lugers outside my 'wish list', I would have jumped on this set. While there are no bids, 'give it a shot' to send an e-mail to the seller and offer him $3,800. I hope that I am not pressuring you to much! Cheers, Albert |
FWIW, I paid $800 for a Dutch holster in similar condition about 5 years ago. This is a very nice ensemble and were I not "Luger poor" at the moment, I'd be on it like ugly on an ape.

I thought the rig nice as well.
But I will be stubborn and hold out for a 1928 contract KOL with brass side plate. I did e-mail the seller to see if they would let the holster go alone. Reply was no, for now... Regards, Pete... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |
