Is my DWM 1917 a shooter ?
Hi, I inherited this beautiful (I think) Luger DWM 1917 with all numbers matching and one magazine with matching number (although it was the 2nd mag. because there is a nr.2 above the serial, and it seems to be a ww2 mag with alu bottom and Haenel Schmeisser Patent engraved in it) Now my question, I had to get a shooting license for this gun in Belgium, the bore and gun have almost never been fired and are in perfect condition, I shot a few times with it and it aims and shoots perfect. But some people tell me I'm crazy to fire this weapon because it could decrease its value, is this true? I also notice that my weapon has less blue than most I see on the web, should I do something about that?

Jesse; from what I can see in your photos, it is a WW1 Luger that was converted to a Police Luger with the addition of a sear safety. I would do NOTHING as far as the blueing if it were mine. As far as shooting it goes, be careful, because if you break an original numbered part, it will lose up to half its value.
