1938 S/42

Hi all,

I have an S/42 from 1938, serial # 636X, with some replacement parts. The toggle looks like one, the knobs are not milled. Also, the trigger feels different (quite wide) and has the letters CN and what looks like a Swiss cross on its right side. Has anybody seen this before?

Thanks!

Hello,

Mu first impression from the PICS is that your pistol has a rear toggle from a 1929 Swiss...

You seem to be right kidvett, after taking it apart I found "SM2" and another Swiss cross underneath the rear toggle. Do you think the trigger is from a 1929 Swiss as well?

Here is a photo scan from V. Bobba's book on Swiss lugers...the photos on the far right-hand side are those of the trigger used on the M1929 Swiss luger. Some have the swiss cross on the right side, others I have seen do not...

Thanks guys! Now I only need to find somebody who needs a Swiss rear toggle and trigger - and who has Mauser parts to swap...
