1936 s/42 AND .22 Luger trainer?
Just bought a 1936 s/42 that is matching with 50% straw (plus holster/ Eagle/63 tool) ($700). The guy also had a very interesting .22 single shot that I snagged for $225.
I am intrigued with this single shot .22. The toggle train up top is maker marked (3X) star over "AF" over vertical line over chevrons. The barrel is crown/R...over the AF chevron thing...over FL.22L over crown/ELG. The left side rear has a monograph that appears to be a fanciful ACF that is inside a shield 3/4" square. The SN is 14!! The front of the frame is also SN'ed as is the barrel to match. This piece is 98% original blue and wood grips are checkered and perfect. In three weeks, I have bought from the same guy 4 Mauser Nazi Lugers, about 5 edges, 4 holsters, 1 P38... and now this 22 which just might be a sleeper!! I am real curious whether the readers here have any info on this .22...TIA...Bob |
OH Bob, A series of photos of your 22 would probably get you more info. I can't tell from your description, whether you have a pistol or rifle and whether it's a luger "look-a-like" or not. Tom H.

Bob, by any chance is this the single shot training pistol that you have acquired?
This is a Single Shot Francotte .22 Caliber Training Pistol, and this photo is the only photo I have ever seen of one. http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/...ningPistol.jpg |
John- You are amazing as you nailed this one. I have attached several pics and this one is not too bad. The last pic is the grip screw which has not been altered. Again, with the low SN and proofs I figured I had better snag it. Any additional comments or thoughts would be great. Thanks...Bob

Nice Catch Bob! One of these (the photo) was auctioned in Europe last year... I will see if I can find the record of what was paid for it. I am sure it is more than you paid!
