Newbie 1916 Erfurt Value?
Hello All,
Not real familiar with these sweethearts, but need thoughts on value. I am guessing this piece would be a low end collector piece or shooter. Eveything I have observed is all numbers are matching, has made a trip to the aresnal, except for the mags and holster. Holter is a 1936 w/stong proofs, one mag is aftermarket, the other appears to be nickel, with no markings. I have several pics available. This piece has been brought to me for possible sale, the only history I have is it belonged to the owners father. That's all the info I've gotten thus far. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike Note:  this picture host has limited bandwidth, if the pics become unavailable, I will be more than happy to email some or all, just let me know what type if ISP you are using so I can adjust file size as needed. http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/...earms4ever.jpg Larger Image: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/205533/Lugerb.JPG |
Hello Mike, I adjusted the size of your picture, by copying it and placing it here. You can upload pics (180kb's max) here, if they are larger, you can do several things;
1. Make them smaller 2. [thumb] URL [/thumb] 3. Simply make it a link Welcome to the forum!! Ed |
Many Thanks, the photo wasn't that large when I uploded it, but that host has been known to compress the image, the make it HUGE.
Thanks Again, Mike |
Mike, as you say, it was turned into a police gun, I would love to get many pictures of her? I colect the Weimar Police, does yours have the 1920 property stamp?
It has the sear safety, what about the mag safety? :) BTW, I scrwed up the larger image when I made the link! Sorry about that. Ed |
Ed,
I see no other markings other than stated. I'll send all the pics I have, if you need more, different angle, etc. let me know. Do you have a broadband ISP? As much as I personally would like to have this piece, I can't afford it. My father has shown interest, but I'm not sure how serious he is. Mike |
you really have not given us much info too go on. But I have collected Weimar period police for over 20 years and perhaps I can help, bore condition would be helpfull, as would holster and tools, but shooting from the hip, pun intended, it would a minimum, and I mean a really bottom min., with a fair bore, go at least $750. Please feel free too email if I can help. Sorry I can't give you a better estimate right now, but with additional info/pictures, we could tighten up the price some.

Thanks, that info is helpful. The bore I would consider somewhat better than fair. It certainly isn't shot out. (by using the bullet method)
In fact, I was thinking about popping a few rounds thru her. How does a Luger normally throw the brass? I'm left handed and don't want to get hit in the face with brass! If you will shoot me you email address, I can send you what I have and try to get more info if needed. Many Thanks, Mike |
Mike, I don't have broadband, but the PC is on all day, so it'll download eventually :D and I will make them a good size for you.
Just send any size, :) Ed (e-mail addy below) |
Ed,
Will do soon,uh, the boss is calling for dinner. Always a problem, guns, wives, guns......... Mike |
I can be reached at collins1974@earthlink.net, watch your self a bit, depending on how you hold the gun, you could get a round coming out, but I bet it will throw 'em high and over your right shoulder....never shot a Luger left handed!....there is a lot too watch out for in buying your first Luger, a real learning curve, but we are here too help. Email me some pic and like I said perhaps we can work on tighting up the estimated value.

Ed & Howard,
The pics are on the way. The second set is a much smaller file. While the first is larger, it contains what I think is more info. TIA, Mike |
