KÃ?? Thoughts Again...
 

I know the KU markings have been discussed and debated a lot here, but I've never seen anyone mention the P.38 connection. At least it looks like a connection to me. It is something to check into. I came across an old article on the P.38. It told the story of the Speerewerkes P.38. At the end of the war they began to build P.38s out of parts that may not have been the best. These were described as being some of the less desirable looking versions of the pistols. The article points out that they were marked with a 0 and a U. The author says that U is the first letter of the German word "tested". He didn't say what the word was. The article made me think of the coincidence of the KÃ?? appearing on the Luger. Just a thought...

Johnny, The U proof on the commerically (non military) accepted P38s don't have an umlot above the U, so probably a different word, but an interesting observation. TH
