Are these grips...
Yes, I know: this topic is abused.
But, could you be so kind to expertise my bachelite grips? Thanks in advance, Marzio http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/extgrips.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/intgrips.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/closgrips.jpg |
I'm afraid that they look like reproduction grips to me. I can't see the threaded hole that is typical of real ones.
|
Marzio, I afraid John is absolutely correct!! Sorry, they are post war reproductions!!

Hold on a minute guys! I'm not for sure, but, some of the recent imports from the former USSR & East Germany sported these crude, coarsely checkered grips... they may actually be bakelite material, I haven't seen any up close... but maybe they are a for real variation??? Opinions everybody!?? Hi Frank! till...later...GT

I do not normally cast aspersions on anothers work! <img border="0" alt="[nono]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />
But in this case I'll make an EXCEPTION !!! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> I do not believe that even the "Ruskies" would turn out a Checkering job like that ! <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" /> If I could not Do Better Than That, "I WOULD QUIT", Oh yes I certainly can !! But I still QUIT !!! <img border="0" alt="[king]" title="" src="graemlins/r.gif" /> That is a very poor center pattern and even worse edges and chopped up border ! IMO ! It looks like Junk from the Mountains along the Afghanistan Border ! <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" /> Nuf to drive a man to Drink <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" /> ViggoG |
I've guessed they aren't original. Aniway, are made in bakelite.
|
Hi GT, you are right, they are a real variation!! They just aren't original!! These folks, whoever they are, have even started incorporating screw holes on the reverse side. The problem is they aren't the correct size screw thread.
Keep vigilant out there guys, they are getting pretty good at these high dollad fakes!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" /> |
Just thought I would jump on the bandwagon... I believe that these poorly checkered plastic or bakelite grips represent post-war replacements...probably from the eastern block somewhere...
I have seen many of them and they look like they were injection molded in molds that were made by convicts with files... While they may be serviceable for shooting, I think they look terrible, especially when compared to original grips. Even the VOPO grips with the target on the side look like great quality next to these... just my http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/2cents.jpg |
Hi Frank! One thing I think we all agree on... they sure are ugly when compared to the German WWII black grips!! See ya soon Frank! til..lat...GT

OK gentlemen.
I understand you all are envious of mine and Ricky RARE grips! (Just kidding) Ricky, your P08 looks exactly like mine: http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/P08l.jpg Is it a byf? M. |
Excuse me Richard; here was very popular "Happy days"! I didn't suppose Ricky is a kid diminutive.
