Don't know squawt! 1912 Military??

Hey Guys,
Who knows the skinny on Gunsamerica #976443911. DWM 1912 Mil. 7.65 Para.? Does it sound good? No lug. I thought all militaries were
9mm. How about the price? Any info appreciated.

Ron, 1912 Militaries did not have stock lugs. They started with late 1913 production. I looked at the single photo of this piece and you cannot tell if it is 7.65mm or not. I would ask the seller for more pictures. If it is 7.65mm, then it was reworked, possibly for export, after WW1. No factory original 1912 DWM's were in 7.65mm. At $800 asking price, it's not too bad of a deal, but I believe that most people would consider it a shooter.

Herb,
I'm only interested in shooters. My budget won't withstand collectables. Could have sworn he indicated that it was a 7.65? Maybe I was looking at the 1920 above it!

Thanks!! Ron

Herb,
Looked again. It clearly says "DWM 1912 Military in 7.65"

Ron,

I suspect that if you are patient and look around you can find a suitable Luger to shoot for somewhat less than $800. If this gun really has been converted to .30 cal. I don't think it is a very good deal.

Ron, I'm with Dwight. I think a 9mm shooter makes more sense than a 30 Luger, unless you load your own ammo. Then it doesn't make that much difference! I'd look for a 9mm shooter! :)

Ron, if you can afford a shooter, you can afford a collectable if you want to. It just takes a little more time to get it.

What seems high today, won't in five years. You might as well buy one that will be going up in value.

Enjoy!

Ron, I know of a beat up but shooter DMW with holster and 1 matched clip and 1 poor forced match clip....I bougth it for trading stock but returned it as it was not the quality I want to deal in.....however for a good + bore and grips and perhaps in the furture to restore it might not be to bad...I just dind't want to walk around some gun show and hawk a gun of lesser quality. I am in no way invested in this gun and will only turn you on to the owner and let you two have at it, if you want.

Hey guys thanks for the boost. I've had a couple of 30 Lugers in the past. I like the cartridge, and have reloaded it. More intrincically accurate than the 9mm, in my opinion.
Thanks for the info. Just was'nt sure about that luger. Did'nt smell right! But was'nt familiar with that variation.
Could'a been Kieser Wilhelms personal "pocket-pooper", ya never can tell!!
Thanks for the offer on the lead, but I'll probably pass.

Thanks guys!!
