Funny stuff, as he has 127 by his name, you'd think he know better.

Pretty precise dating to narrow it down to November of 1935. How come it doesn't have a stock lug if it has "never been fooled around with"? Think I'll hang on to my $950 (even if I had $950).

Thanks, Ron, for catching the obvious...
I was so excited about a real gun showing up on e-Bay...I just went dumb & blind... :D |
As small as the photos are, could this be a commercial gun? since I don't see any numbers on the sideplate? Does anyone have any references for commercial guns being produced without a stock lug that late in the production history? (1935)

It has an unrelieved sear bar. I'm curious to know what this gun actually is. Not $950 curious, though...

I'm curious as well. I assume there's no grip strap mark but, if the stock lug is ground off in the same manner as some of the "H.P." marked Lugers, it may say something about the meaning of that mark (see my post under Unit Markings). Come on, Dwight, ante up $950 to satisfy my curiousity!

Talk about dumb and blind. I went along with the 1935 date and didn't read carefully. The serial number is listed as 39421, which makes it an early 1908 Commercial. How the guy came up with a date of November 1935 beats me, but all of a sudden, $950 doesn't sound so bad.

I sent the fellow an email through e-Bay...
Invited him to list it here on the Luger Forum with more photos. Told him the soup Nazi's at e-Bay will probably yank his auction as we speak... ...At least we know his buy-it price... Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |
