1920s? luger comm?
I bought this luger about 7 years ago for 450, I know that it is a shooter, but would like to know something about it, I have the old bood lugers at random [found it at a gradge sale for 19$] and the only one that it fits is the 20s commercial, the book says that they used every thing but the kitchen sink for rebuilds on these and you can find any number of marks on the gun, and the nitro mark. can any one tell me what the K.L.146 on the grip strap is? a unit marking? and the marks on the bbl eagle over RC and eagle over 43 next to each other, and the eagles on the frame? thanks.

Ed,
It took some work to view your photos. Perhaps a moderator can make them more accessible. Your Luger has a receiver with s/n 4807 and a frame with s/n 8514t. It has/had both sear and magazine safeties. The frame is a "29 DWM" manufactured in 1929. The grip strap mark is actually L.K.146. which signifies Landj¤gerei (rural police) of the K¶slin district in the Prussian province of Pommern, weapon # 146. Others may be able to tell you more about the upper. |
