With an E/655 and E/135 on the right side of the receiver, It is a late BYF 41 that SEEMS to be all matching.

PS; the 382 on the bottom of the barrel is probably 882.

The markings on the magazine would indicate that it is a late 39 Mauser manufacture.

The pistol could be one of those transitions between the E/655 and E/135 for a byf 41. It certainly is in the correct serial range, if there is no suffix. The E/655 magazine is probably, without knowing the S/N, from a late 1939 or early 1940.

Lonnie beat me to it but I agree that #18 should read 8,82 which works out to a bore diameter of .347".

That is actually the LANDS diameter, the bore diameter will be something closer to .355" the standard bullet diameter for the 9mm

Hi everybody, nice place, first thread I check after logging in, I just find dear old TAC and Thor. I have less time than before on GW since I act as expert on a french forum and ID specialist for Security Arms and post on Gunboards too but I did not find a good forum for L�¼ger pistol on the web before coming here. As a result of your multiple discussion comments, I have rechecked my Item Number 16 of my description which is listed in the initial post above.

Using a better magnifying glass, I find that what I had listed as a "Small eagle on the left rear side of the barrel" is a three digit number
( ?55 ) under a three line stamp, or eagle. The first digit of the three digit number is not at all clear, but looks like it may be a six ( 6 ). I'm just too much of a novice to be sure.

Virg, it is a 655. Are the numbers straight or curved? Are the eagle wings even or tapered? There are eight different types of eagle over 655 that I have reference on but there also eight different subtle differences.

Using this stronger maynifying glass, I also find that what I have listed as Item Number 13 in my description above, as a small "66 Under what may be a tiny eagle" looks more like a G5 under a tiny eagle. As stated in my description, this G5 mark is on the right front side of the frame and just behind the 135 proof mark.

Please forgive me for not using a stronger magnifying glass initially.

With reference to the correction of my Item Number 16, the numbers 655 are straight and are perpendicular to the length of the barrel.

The three lines, or wings, above the 655 are parallel or straight but the bottom wing may be a tiny bit shorter than the top two wings.
