authentic or WW2 period luger shoulder holster
 

hi, are there any authentic or WW2 period shoulder holster for PO8 lugers I have several unsure its real as its made for a small german.
they appear to be same style, too hot here to find the holsters upstairs,
will try and post a picture below, as I am 6 ft, 180 lbs and cannot fit into the holster, please post, many thanks, robbt

I see you (or someone) posted this to a Colt Forum 10 yrs ago (same picture shows up for a Google search). Jerry Burney here would be the final arbiter for this subject.

I like cool things. Since I can't afford originals, I look for repros.

CMR Militaria sells some of the best I've seen. Some things are "Fantasy" pieces, .... like the leather snail drum carrier that was ???

CMR used to offer this, they called it a Tanker Holster. I still have it in the safe with a repro bronze Panzer medallion affixed between the holster and mag carrier;

Probably custom made for someone if it's not adjustable for size or bulky clothing.

The German military did not issue shoulder holsters rigs to tankers or any other soldier. If you look on other websites that post extensive collections of war time German military photos you will not find a picture with such device. There may be a rare exception near the end of the war, but as far as I am aware here is no known documentation.

Shoulder holsters in the 1940s were mostly an American style brought about primarily from the gangster v. cop movies. You will see photos of America GIs who are tanker wearing such rigs. Thee is a famous publicity picture of Elvis of when he was in the US Army in the late 1950s with a tankers helmet, wearing a shoulder holster.
