Looking for a value on a couple Lugers.

I am here in the Midwest US. I found an estate that is selling a couple Lugers. They always caught my eye but I know little about them. I never even knew they made long barreled Lugers.

I know very little about these and looking for a high and low value.

On is a DWM 1917 Artillery model Luger. 9x19 numbers are supposed to match. I would say good/very good condition with holster.

The other looks like a standard length, DWM upper, 06 lower and 7.65 Swiss barrel. It is more fair condition. Light surface rust.

No idea on either bores. It seems to be a whole new world of information me.

Thanks

Sounds interesting, but without pictures, its hard to say.

Any shooter luger is around 1k.
So, an artillery would be 1100-3200 - everything depends on if matching, if real, etc.

I understand that... I got a picture of the Long Luger.

Thanks for sharing your luger.

The LP.08 Artillery luger and holster looks promising. . . .

PLEASE DOWNLOAD PHOTOS.
We can't get to them on IMGUR !!!
This photo is blurry and low resolution.

It needs to be photographed outdoors in overcast lighting over a dark red or gray cloth.
Full images for both sides, top and front. Don't forget the magazine.

The finish looks like a dull gray in this photo, which would not be original.
But, the lighting is not good enough to be sure.
I'm looking at the normal wear places that don't show any wear (muzzle, side plate, receiver, etc.)
Most Lugers are going to show considerable wear patterns.
Look at the grips and butt area, too.

The left grip appears to have the "million dollar" chip under the safety lever.
Very common.

Look through the FAQs for where too look and what to look for.

It is the only photo I have. It is at an estate far out of town. Copy of a photo.

I wanted to upload the photo, when I clicked on the attach photo, it only gives me the option to add in a URL. Maybe because of my low post count??

Like I mentioned I know very little about Lugers. Before the other day, I had no idea of the long barrel tank models.

The other one they had, they said it was a DWM upper, 06 lower and 7.65 Swiss barrel. I have no idea what that really means. I looked up the 7.65 Swiss and found out it is still in production as a .30 Luger.

I would be interested in a shooter. I don't have a lot of cash, but trying to find out what is a fair offer for either. 9mm preferred since I do shoot 9mm, but the 7.65 is not out of the question. Not sure if these models are rare or common.

Thank you for your help.

Brian,
I concur with above by Mac Cat. I would add that the take-down lever, safety lever, and magazine button are not "strawed" further indicating that the gun has been refinished. This would make it a "shooter." Although, in my opinion, artillery shooters demand a premium above the $1k average price, plus the holster has value. More and better photos are needed for a more accurate assessment.

Not sure, you should be able to post a picture.
NOTE - there is no tanker model, we call it an Artillery Luger, although the correct name is long luger (Lange Luger).

Had to dig and find it on the bar above. A lot of very good information. Mrerick did a lot of work on it. Thanks to him!!

The seller's estate is asking 3k or best offer on the Artillery model. I have no idea. A ways out of my play money for now.

No idea where I got tanker from???
