Luger books?

Gentlemen,

After acquiring my third Luger I think it's about time I get a proper reference book on Lugers. I want one that'll give me its history as well as models, markings and variations. Recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

You've picked a tough set of criteria. Books which are long on history are generally showt on gun detail, and vice-versa.

If you can find it, you might look into John Walters's "The Luger Book", published in 1986, reprinted in 1991. It is an encyclopedia, but the topics are pretty thoroughly presented. It is by no means the only Luger book to own, but it may best suit your requirements.

Its been out of print for a long time, but shows up on ebay fairly frequently.
