P08 Conservation

I got my first all matching Luger today. A real nice S/42. Figured it was about time to graduate from shooter grade. I wanted to know if there were any publications out there devoted to conservation of lugers i.e.,removal of lite superfical rust - backstrap freckling, is it ok to boil? Lite superficial frame rust beneath grips where I guess moisture gets trapped by wicking action of wood grips.
Technique and so and so.

Thanx - Mark

Mark, The best way to remove rust without removing blue is to liberally spread oil on the rust spot and rub with 0000 steel wool. Works well. Be sure to use oil. Do not use steel wool with out it.I do not know about the freckling and boiling thing... Jerry Burney
