1936 Mauser S/42 3 digit n serial number
1 Attachment(s)
I recently acquired a 1936 Mauser S/42 with a 3 digit n serial number. All matching including the mag. Wondering if the 3 digit serial number adds any value? I will try to post photos this evening.

Perry,
Serial numbers of fewer than four digits are found in every letter suffix block of 10,000 guns. There's no particular rareness because they're the same as the other 9001 guns that have 4 digits within a complete block. Low serial numbers for early Commercials are sequential up to ~ 95.000, which is when the letter block system was adopted, before they would have had to go with 6 digits. |
David, thanks for the response and explanation.

Seems to be a "p" for me , not a "n"
