Swiss Holster Stock for LP08

2 Attachment(s)
I ran across this listing for a 1917 LP08 with a custom clamshell holster/stock. Stock was reportedly acquired in Switzerland. No further details. Thought it was interesting and unique. Never heard of or imagined such a thing. Thought I would share. Wondering if this was a thing? or a one of kind creation?

Unique! Never seen an example like that.

Yeah, my money's on a one-off. I notice it clamps to the pistol's stock lug, tightened by the knurled bolt on the toe of the holster in lieu of the familiar attaching iron. An interesting approach, since it solves the aesthetic problem of the 90 degree cross grain lid on those early, original wooden prototypes. And the clamp style attachment seems to me as if it would fit any stock lug without the need for fitting. Not sure about those reinforcing strips that are screwed on...

I would be cautious, however, of running afoul of the BATFE. IIRC, to be exempted from the SBR regulations, the stock has to be at least faithful to an original if it's a reproduction, and applied only to the pistol it would have been--1900/06, Carbine, Navy, Arty. Norwegian (?), etc.--in original, contemporary configuration.

It was just a listing I ran across. Not mine, I don't know if registered or not. Few details. I was just interested in its unique approach to something I have never seen or envisioned. So far no one else has run across this concept it appears.

I saw the same listing. Appears to be a one-off creation. Basically unlawful to attach it to the gun.

Basically unlawful to attach it to the gun.Switzerland not unlawful there
