Replying to the business aspect of 9mm
the M9 Beretta is easily the best.
Others are archaic and making money off of those who think there is justification for a "Luger" in real combat. If you are not a combat person, then the Luger is easily an expensive endeavor for "history". With respect, John St. |
Hi John St.
"Huh"? I own and shoot Beretta's, 1911's and numerous other firearms. However - I "collect" Lugers. Yep - some folks have made money off me for that endeavor called "collecting" - and I could care less, they had something I wanted, and I reached a "fair price", based upon what I was willing to pay for it. That's "collecting" - not "combat". However - since I have absolutely no idea what your point was with this post - I thought I'd ask what the point was that you were desperately trying to make, before I simply deleted it.... With respect as well, John D. |

After that, I'd take a SIG. |
So you are a "site administrator" feigning stupidity to the fact that you (or your superiors) decided to move my P-08 post to another site?
Respectfully, Thinking you can understand, John St. |
Doubs,
Since 1987 I felt the CZs were best! Ask All Custom Firearms in Sierra Vista how many CZ 75s I bought from them (Arizona: Ph (520 459-3450) and ask for the owner, Mike Chudemelka. He will affirm that I am a CZ believer. But the M9 I have now is better. And no Luger compares with either. I can accept this. I can't accept the site administrator's narrow opinion--unless he is into helping S----- sell his Luger Collection. John St. |

Same arguement as before, of course it was ME that moved his posts. As you can see, this uh, gentleman always posts in the same part of the forum. The P08 military section, John St, why would you post this here?
The entire forum is owned and administered by John D., he has several moderators, I am one, as is John S., and a discussion such as this should be in the DISCUSSION part of THIS same forum. Ed |
What in Hades is this (and related) thread(s) all about? Perhaps one should lay off the "hooch" or at a minimum make sure that their medication is properly administered before posting????
|
Well - Greg....
I wish I had an answer - which is why I replied "Huh"? in my first post in this thread..... So - let me try to summarize what I think it's about.... Thinking..... Still thinking..... I'm still thinking........ Hmmm - I have NO IDEA..!!!!! But hey - at least I get to 'feign stupidity' (posted by "John St." later in this thread) while others practice it in "real time"... Your comment about "...medication properly administered..." perhaps is correct - but I'm not really sure??!!! :D |
I was going to post a comment to this discussion but I don't believe I will, it would just muddy the water more. I will stay tuned for the rest of the story though!
I believe this story has ended! |
way too mutch BURBON

Waiter! I'll have whatever John St. is having.
John D., please consider un-banning John St. I have enjoyed his posts more than you can imagine. Kind of reminds me of my dad, bless his soul. He has caused several members here to compose some very witty posts, including several from yourself. Let him continue to entertain. |
Hey Wes.....
OK - based on your post, I'm about to unban him - BUT - if it's get's a little out of hand, I probably won't change my mind again. Let's see what happens OK? Best to you Wes..!!!! |
Tac,
I like your playing with words. At one time I was a Senior Domestic Facilities Administrator...er..landlord. Graf Big Norm von Topelowski I (and only) |

I consider myself reasonably literate, but I have yet to ascertain the meaning of a single 'John St.' post. Could it be an insurmountable language barrier? I don't think so, because others with native languages other than English manage to get their points across rather succinctly. We overlook spelling and grammatical errors all the time, because after all, we're not here to 'grade' posts for clarity or 'correctness'. Perhaps we're being rather cleverly trolled with intelligently conceived gibberish, although chances are against it. Is he saying the M9/92FS is a better pistol than the Luger for actual use in the real world? No argument there. When the recent hurricane was bearing down on me, I went to the gun cabinet to prepare for the possibility of civil unrest/looting/whatever following the storm. I looked over my pistols and took the Beretta 92FS, leaving a Luger, an HP and a 1911. The Beretta is an excellent combat pistol and is extremely smooth and accurate in operation. Fortunately the locals behaved themselves and everyone acted as they should for a change, helping their neighbors and cleaning up their properties. The Beretta went back to sleep without speaking, but it sure made me feel better there in the dark, one in the pipe and the hammer safely down. All of which has nothing to do with the appreciation of the Luger or one's choice of a duty or combat pistol, but I think that's what he was getting at.

After the hurricane, we had a burglar the press nicknamed 'The Blackout Bandit' who at last count had entered 31 homes through open windows and stole various items. The power's back on now, so the windows are closed and the A/C's on, and I guess he faded into the background. That's the kind of thing I was thinking about when I loaded up during the storm. I didn't want y'all to think I was paranoid or anything - just realistic.
|
No thats not paranoid. And I agree 100% of what you wrote, esp., the first two lines in the first post :D
