Finally: A Good Sideplate
I finally found a decent sideplate for my DWM, even though it's an Erfurt. The finish and wear match the pistol pretty well and it snapped in like it had been fitted. I'll see if I can put a pic up later.

You can see that someone in the past scratched some numbers into the side of the frame, but I'm not planning on messing with the pistol at this time.

I'm glad you found a decent sideplate because that is a decent looking Luger. If it shoots as good as it looks, you have a winner.

Looks nice, just like it belongs!

Thanks. Bore is peppered with pitting and the edges of the lands are 'soft', but it'll shoot fine. I have the original sideplate, but someone must have put it in a mill or drill press of some kind to remove pitting, because it is really disfigured. The new sideplate is notched at the top for a sear safety, but it's not noticeable unless you know to look for it. It's an honest Luger, and I've learned everything I know about them right here on this great Forum.
