ULTRA RARE Swiss LUGER Waffenfabrik Bern W+F 1906/29 SPECIAL ASSEMBLY P-08

The serial number of the pistol is 33106, which is beyond the range of last documented number of 33094.

Question is the pistol a genuine assembly by WFB or a private gunsmith.

some good infos in the Bobba book about swiss luger, too.

The Swiss Luger pistols in that specific serial number range consists of housecleaning of remaing 1906/24 WFB parts in their inventory. Swiss mindset ,nothing is wasted
They are just firearms assembled from parts from different models.

My concern about Genuine refers to the strange proof mark on the right side of the pistol . see attachment

I have searched Bobbas’ book and others and read all the Luger Forum threads. I found no reference on that specific proof mark.
Since WFB had strict guidelines in placement of approval marks, I strongly suspect the proof mark was applied by a private gunsmith or an owner of the weapon.

From reading the threads on this forum and Jan Still Forum ,Mr. Stucki has the most knowledge on this series of Swiss Lugers. I hope that that Mr Stucki may provide supply his insight to my question about the questionable proofmark.

That looks a bit like a Japanese Kanji character.

Hello Ron

I e-mailed by Firearms dealer in CH and asked for his input about the origin of the proof mark in question.

He stated: "the mark on the side looks like
a stylized crossbow and 75, the thing one would expect to see
as logo for a 1970's shooting event".

Pistol 33106 may have been awarded as a shooting prize

After a few drinks I saw the crossbow and 75!
