What's this P08 magazine

I bought this at a yard sale for $1.00. Guy said he took it apart and couldn't get it back together. I cannot assemble it either. No markings on magazine body.
Any ideas?

Mag

Hi Tom, Looks like a trip K mag? Not all original though.. I have some spare parts for those, I will make it work for you at no charge! Just send it to me and I will,"fix it, or fix it so no one else can!" :) best, GT
BTW, needs a box spring, not a coil spring, and a different bottom? Won't be perfect, but it'll work... best, GT

I don't think you overpaid by too much, Tom. It's definitely a post-war, knockoff body. The garish fake ivory bottom makes me think "Mexican" for some reason. Although this one is not without a certain charm, I usually avoid spot-welded Luger mags. But if GT can git 'er runnin' for ya, that's a big plus.

why & why not!

Nothing original or aftermarket repro fits this mag? You pretty much need a part or two that can be modified to make it run again.
If you look at it a bit closer, you'll see there are no provisions for either an original follower or even the spring guide on the mag shell to fit into?
So the spring pictured won't go and an original replacement won't go as well. Now, a Wolfe fxo spring, or an original fxo spring, or a P.38 spring will all work with some slight modification. The bottom will be the real struggle, but i think i can solve that delimma as well......
Best to all, til.....lat'r....GT:cheers::cheers:

Major Tom,
I think the problem may be the 8 is incomplete
Not a PO-8 but a PO-S

I was wondering about that coiled spring too. It would, if pushed and prodded fit into the mag, but then the follower would not move. The follower was suspicious to me also.

To GT: thank you Sir for your offer to 'fix' this magazine. Knowing that you are very busy with worthwhile projects, I will not bother you with this 'P0 s' mag.

Sure this isn't for a toy or some non-firing replica?

Major Tom 07-29-2023 10:49 AM

toy magazine?

Very possible, never considered that.

The spring guide is the same size as a 9mm case.
Should not be hard to get this back together, provided the follower is still inside the tube.

Looks like a Triple-K with a Franzite style bottom piece.

G.T. 07-30-2023 12:35 PM

wrong spring!

Hi Vlim! Mag tube has no provisions for the spring guide to travel in, and requires a box spring rather then a coil spring? Like an fxo spring? It makes these mags perform pretty well when the correct parts are utilized... Best to you Vlim, til.....lat'r....GT:cheers:
BTw, it's hard to see until you have it in hand and try to repair... only then is it readily appearant... best, GT

That may be the issue. I believe the Triple-K had zigzag speings, as you say, similar to Haenel.

The Old catalog shows a zigzag springed example on the cover.
