Opinions on Double Dated Arty Luger
10 Attachment(s)
Got this years ago at a gun show. Was looking for some thoughts, opinions and historty. DWM 1917/1920. Mostly matching, check the pics to see. Some parts are forced match I would guess when it was rearsenaled. Thinking it might be reblued as well but not sure if it was rebluded when being reworked or by a private owner. Any help would be great appreciated! Thanks

Sean,
In my opinion, the rounded raised part of the side plate, rounded chamfers on the front of the receiver and parallel scratches on the breech block/toggle links, etc. all point to a buff job (and reblue). Toggle train, barrel, and arty sight appear to be from three different guns. KFS |
The answers you were given on the other Luger forum are accurate. It's a parts gun that's had some refinishing done to it. It's a shooter. Enjoy it for what it is.

I appreciate the help, knew it was a shooter and shoots well. I'm looking at selling it, decided to thin out of my collection. What are arty lugers in shooter condition as mine selling for?

Sean,
I bought my arty shooter (an upper/lower mismatch but otherwise in fine, original condition) on this forum for $1550. in 2015. This one is not as nice but prices have gone far north since then. KFS |
