Holster repair
Now that Jerry has retired due to health reasons, and not doing holster repair anymore, is there anyone else that can do that kind of work? I have two holsters that need repair that I bought specifically knowing that he could fix them, and now they are useless unless I can find another craftsman. We have all lost a valuble resource when Mr Burney ceased repair operations.

Jerry, WE lOVE
YOU!!! |
Jerry retiring was a great loss to our community. I too have a couple of holsters that need that special touch and have no place to go.
I wish Jerry all the best in his retirement. |
I hope Jerry considers writing a book about all his trials and triumphs so that his immense craft knowledge doesn't simply disappear.
Our community has lost too many fine craftsmen to natural attrition and mishaps already, so Jerry's health issues and withdrawal from active work sadden me beyond just the human/personal aspects of it. Happy retirement trails, Jerry. Who will "keep us in stitches" now, I wonder? |
HELP - I was planning to send Jerry a 1916 holster that needs the strap restiched and the pull up strap replaced. Looks like I need a plan B. Would like to try my hand at the stitching and wondered if there are any info/resources some one could bird dog that would help in selecting the proper linen thread and needles.

WOW ... shocking news :( I had no idea that Jerry was 'retiring'.
Jerry has helped me sort holster issues a few times |

Jerry..A living treasure
I am saddened to hear of Jerry's health issues and subsequent retirement. Jerry has been a huge help to me in holster repair, identification and procurement. His assistance and generosity will be missed.
Peace be with you, Jerry V/r Grant |
I came across a guy (Scott Tollefson <scott@fatmanleather.com) on utube doing Luger holster repair. I am certainly not an expert but it sure looked like he knew what he was doing. I have sent him a 1916 dated P08 holster that needed the flap hold down strap resewed and a new lift strap. Has anyone here used his services?

I have talked with Scott a little. You can see a couple of vids on Youtoob under FATNAN LEATHER, He's starting out much as I did 25 years ago.
As an aside, I AM writing a book...Titlred All the things I don't know. and am up to 1200 blank pages. Will be a really quick read though. |
