I am putting in a new floor and had to lighten the safe a little in order to move it. Sorry the pic quality is not any better; just took a few quick ones. I need a bigger safe...

Beautiful Collection Steve! My wife snuck up behind me while I was admiring it. She's impressed too. However, now my wife wants to know what is lurking in my safe. Rule of thumb, never have more than 3 guns out at the same time and keep repeating, "That one, I've had that one a long time."

Hey guys, thanks for all the nice compliments. I DO get nasty looks from my wife but I have to remind her that they all don't belong to me. I have temporary custody of a few of them but as long as she doesn't know the exact number, I'm OK. And yes, I do have a soft spot for Spanish Steel. I Like the Astras and the Stars beause when you hold one in your hand, you can really tell that there is some steel in those pistols. Plus, they are still reasonably priced(except for the Nazi contract models). A lot of people overlook them or turn their nose up because of the misconception of low quality. The Astra Falcon that is pictured is in 22 cal. It was a hard one to find as the GCA '68 stopped importation of this model. This particular one was made in 1957. The guy I bought it from had 2 and now I wish that I had bought the other one. The star that is in the box is a Model F series pistol. I guess you could call it a "poor mans" Olympia. It is a 22 target pistol with a fixed barrel. 'Lot of fun to shoot. It was practically unfired when I acquired it. It too is almost 50 years old. As to the Lugers, all of the DWM years are represented with the exception of 1910 with a few Erfurts in the mix.Also a couple of Weimar era models. The rest are Mausers with a couple of Banners and a Nazi Navy included. No Kriegs or Imperial Navy pistols here; those are for the privileged few. Oh, the Inglis. I always wanted one of the Chinese contract models. Found it in a pawn shop dirt cheap. The stock cost more than the pistol! Pretty accurate at 50 yds with the stock attached. It draws attention at the range; some people are amazed that there are things like this out there. They want to know if it is legal, how much did it cost, can they try it out etc..etc..I then give them a quick BATF lesson on stocked pistols, whats legal, whats not,quick history on FN, Inglis and the Chinese, tell them I have less invested than they do in their new Beretta, Glock, Colt and sure they can try it out. Johnny, I'm sorry there are no free samples. This is part of my retirement. I imagine I'll be divesting myself of these in a few years. That'll be a sad time, but oh well, we are all only custodians of historical objects and we sure can't take 'em with us..

Well, I guess I'll quit ramblin on and on and get back to my floor.

High-density. Sometimes its nice just to see a mass--mess--of fine guns like this. Thanks for the post.
