nice gun
|
You are RIGHT again RK... (twice in the same day!) this IS a nice gun. Too bad about the strap on the holster being damaged... whoever buys this rig should get in touch with Lugerholsterrepair... Too nice not to have the holster look right.

It may just be the pictures, but I think some things look "odd" about that gun. Be careful, folks. I don't know enough about police holsters to say whether the holster is OK or not.

Jim, I'm no expert on these holsters either, but the stitching looks a little too white from the picture? Might be a really nice find, but it is one of those let me see it in person or a lot more pictures deal.
Otherwise, nice looking rig, I lightened the first picture, looks more worn on the holster (a good sign I think), than as a bit darker. Ed |
Parts of the gun have the appearance of having been polished and reblued. The Eagle L does not look quite like those I have seen and the "banner" was not done with a die but was either hand engraved or pantographed. I can't say Mauser did not do that, but I would think it unlikely, as they must have had "banner" stamps all over the place.
I may be all wet, but I note the bidding has not been exactly lively. As to the holster, I was under the impression that police used the standard military holster, but I am open to correction as I am not a holster expert. I don't recall one like that, but it could be legitimate. I honestly have no idea what it is. Jim |
