Were all luger stocks made with walnut? What about the grips? Tks

I too would like to know. I know that grips were made of Walnut and Beech - I imagine that there are other woods. Why not oak? Or Maple, both hard woods - but I think of them as rifle stocks.
Wood for carbines?
Wood for grips?
Wood for wood bottoms?
