Can anyone ID this holster...
Its marked as follows...
N. Burghard Pasing AWM 1 15 This holster has had a 42 code '40 date luger in it since at least 1964. I am told there were two guns with holsters. When the first one was sold, the buyer switched holsters between pistols. Is this a Military holster? Any help appreciated! GSWAlly |
It is an Imperial period holster probably made in 1915 and accepted in 1915. I am not near my reference material or notes, but I believe AWM was a sort of clearing house to accept, approve and forward leather goods to the army. I have several AWM holsters, most are artilleries all are dated 1913-1915.

George,
AWM=Artillerie Werkestatten Muenchen, essentially a supply depot that recieved and did QA on holsters destined for Bayernishe regiments. Tom A. |
George,
N. Burghard = Maker's Name Pasing = Maker's town AWM = As per Tom's post 1 = Work Group withing AWM making this holster 15 = Year of fabrication as per G.A's post. * Likely a military holster as commercial production was halted in 1914 due to the start of WWI. * QED? Respectfully, Bob |
