Finnish Loading Tool
Bought a "Finnish Loading Tool" on eBay for $15.50. Dealer was from Sweden.
The attached picture at: http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/...oadingTool.jpg shows the tool in a detailed closeup. The tool appears to be COMPLETELY NEW with no signs of wear or use. First thought is that this is probably not authentic; but, as a friend pointed out, it seems unlikely that anyone would bother counterfeiting such a low cost item. Has anyone else seen one of these? Do you have a known authentic tool for comparison. Would appreciate comments. Thanks, Luke web page |
Luke,
I bought one of these from Numrich Arms awhile back for $10. or $12., I see that they are now $15.40. See the Numrich website Luger parts list: "takedown tool, original" KFS |

Did the one from Numrich have the Square/SA marking as this one does? Thanks, Luke |
I've also seen the SA marked loading tools. Probably of post WW2 Finnish manufacture, but different shape than the original German made ones. Tom H.

Thanks, Tom.
This one also does NOT have the channel cut out of the back like the German manufactured versions. Luke |
Luke,
The one I bought from Numrich is marked SA, I think it's inside a square but I can't remember. I've been recalled to active duty and can't check. However, I'm "supposed to" get liberty next weekend and hope to get home. KFS |
Thanks, Karl. Appreciate your help.
Also, when you have a chance to check: Does the back side have a channel machined out for the raised ridge on the magazine? Mine does not. Thanks, Luke |
My two Finn loading tools are flat on the back, not machined like the German ones to fit the mag better. They both have the SA stamp surrounded by a stamped border like that shown in the first post.

All Finnish loading tools I have seen do not have a cannel on the back side. They are normally marked with SA, some of them have a "5" under that, which is probably a Unit marking?
Regards |
Luke,
Here is a picture of the tool I bought from Numrich. It is also not machined on the back. KFS http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/TOOLFN.JPG |
