P08 jams

Hi all! New to this site and thanks for the add. I have a 1941 p08 that jams often. The cylinder clears then the round coming from the mag gets jammed with the lead up against the barrel and bolt. Any suggestions on what needs repairing?

Hi,

You are experiencing the typical Luger jam!

If you handload, this will be fixed quite easily. If not, you should probably try buying a new Mac-Gar magazine.

These magazines have more aggressive springs and properly formed magazine feed "lips".

If you do handload, please do let me know.

Respectfully,

Sieger

I am going to assume that the gun is clean, and well lubed. This is a must with Lugers. Is this a numbers matching Luger, or a "parts" Luger?

Next question, what ammo are you trying to fire in this Luger? Some/many Lugers are ammo sensitive, and the wrong ammo produces a jam-a-matic.

What mag are you using. If it is original to the Luger, then try a new Mec-Gar mag.

If we go step by step, likely we can diagnosis the problem, and get it corrected.
