Hello
Would appreciate some opinions of this partial stamp, looks as though it could be an Eagle L , but why on the barrel, it’s on a 1916 DWM with a sear bar added and a HzA stamp as well as a simson/dwm rework stamp, thank you

Sounds like a Nazi barrel replacement during re-work.

Here’s a couple more barrel photos, these are the only stamps on the barrel, if it was a rework is it common for the replacement barrel not to be numbered to the gun, could someone give me a ballpark value of this Luger, all matching other than mag and barrel.

well, the plot thickens. This luger has a sear safety added. This is a Police modification to prevent the upper barrel and toggle assembly from being able to fire when the assembly is removed from the frame. The barrel may have replaced during its service with Police, even after its Simson rework
I am not really familiar with police luger practice but others on the forum. Post some good photos of the HZA mark and a close up of the are above the mag release and just to the rear of the trigger to see if it also had a magazine safety at some point.

Couple more photos no evidence of having a mag safety, the hza mark on sear bar

History!

I love guns like this! I know the phrase is used a lot, but if this gun could only talk? It is in nice shape, and has probably been reworked even more than the markings indicate.. It probably fought several wars on three different planets?... Doesn't matter, it has survived! Neat gun, and I am excited to see this gun on the forum. It takes me back to when I first started collecting.. Best to all, til....lat'r....GT:cheers:
