g date luger
I just picked up a g date luger with holster and loading tool and extra mag. the luger is in 85 to 90% finish and straw, mags do not match but all others numbers match, I tore it down and the fireing pin matches along with all the other numbers.
holster is a 39 date holster. the marks on the right side is the 63 63 and stick eagle then an stick eagel on the bbl. loading tool is marked 63, mags are dif. serial nos. and marked fxo. I picked the whole rig up for 1350. I figured the holster alone is worth 2 to 250, I could be wrong but I felt like it was a good deal. the extra mag should be worth 75$ it should be at my ffl dealer tomorrow, I will post some photos for your opinions. |
Ed, so far sounds good!
Lets see those pictures :) Ed |

well I just picked up the luger today, and other than the dealers workers giving me a spanking because of a misunderstanding, every thing went fine. here are the photos I took after breaking it down and oiling it up, the bore is in very good shape not mint but very good. under the grips no marks. the mags are nickle plated with aluminum caps and marked with the eagle over 63. the bbl has one mark on the right side stick eagle? and on the left bbl. is is a small eagle over 63 or 53 have not got a loup out yet.

Hi Ed,
* Likely WaA286 on the holster. :) * Carl Busse, Fabrik f¼r Heeresa¼srustungen aus Stoff und Leder, Mainz, Kurf¼stenstrasse 11 {in 1941}. * In Sept. 1941, Busse's code became "jkh" and subsequently, in 1942, the WaA sub-bureau number changed to 927. * The down lined eagle on the right side of the barrel is the barrel's proof mark and the droop(down-wing)eagle/63 on the barrel's left is the Army Inspector's acceptance mark. * Hope this helps. Respectfully, Bob |
