I have some doubts about the explanation of the following marks on the side of the barrel espcially the NP letters!

Its impossible to tell what most of those figures are without a real closeup photo, but the NP designates the nitro proof of Great Britain, indicating that the gun was at one time a British import. British proofs have a number of different marks and different configurations, it looks like the rest of the marks are probably some of these.
