I lost my best friend today.
I lost my best and really only fried today. It was coming for a long time, but still a shock. I talked to him in the hospital Sunday night, so at least I said goodbye. We were hired two weeks apart, worked 32 yrs together, and retired together. Our wives had a falling out so I haven't seen for a while. Until this heart, lung and kidney business, we talked several times a week. We ate, shot and collected guns together, and we both loved our kitties. Sorry to go on, but I'm hurting.

Lost a few myself, they can't be replaced. My condolence for your loss.

That is very hard, I am so sorry
|
My sincere condolences.
This age thing isn't fun sometimes, specially when your buds go. G2 |
Sorry for the loss.
The ageing process is a tough master with this. Count is too high and climbing. |
Mike
Sorry about your friend. Just remember you have lots of friends on this forum who care. Bill |
Mike, Treasure the years you enjoyed together and the memories you made. I agree with Bill Lyon, and getting old sure isn't for wimps. Know that you will always have friends here.
Sincere condolences and may God comfort you for your loss. -John |
Very sad!
Hello Mike, It is hard!!! No other way to say it... It's like a freezing cold hand grips you heart, and soul! As stated by many here, on the forum, you have family here, we feel the loss as well, as for many of us it hits very close to home. There are no cures for the pain, but time will help dull the hurt, but not the memories... If fact, in time, only the good memories will remain.. Doesn't seem like that now, i know... Prayers for all, best to you Mike, til....lat'r....GT

Mike, At the end of my Fathers life he had lost all his old time Friends, he said the only friend he had left was nicotine.
It's never easy..I started to lose friends in high school to car accidents, then in deep rock mining, in basic I lost my best friend I joined with to a car accident on leave for Christmas, then the VN war..Now old age. 2 Years ago I lost five close friends in the span of 6 months. I have quite a few photo's of my squad in VN. ALL of them are dead but me. It appears to be the circle of life. Life is for the living and so is grieving. We can all grieve with you Brother... |
There have been many great comments on this thread. We're all on this road of life and we all know the ending, just not when. Though I haven't met any here in person I can feel the sincerity shown. Mike has lost a friend as we all have and will. I see and know that if / when the next buddy leaves I can count on the support here. Thanks to all.

Sorry to hear... I don't think I can add to what the other folks have already said. Hang in there.

All of my friends have passed. The last one was a year ago due to lung cancer.
It is an empty, cold feeling when you have no one to share your interests with. My condolences to you. |
Condolence on your loss.
This passing will leave a hole in your life, but one that will hopefully recede with perspective and time. It's important to remember the good experiences together. I've found that helps, and that they will stay with you over time. One of the things you often go through is anger at the unfairness of losing a friend. It's sometimes hard to control, but do your best not to take it out on anyone. |
My Prayers for all Brother. A difficult, sad time.

I said my goodbyes last night at the funeral home, the interment was family. I did not realize how basicly decent are of the members of this Forum are. Thank all of you very much! Jerry, GT, and John thank you, and Bill l. God bless all of your hearts!
