If he's a Doctor and can afford a Luger Carbine, he should start with Sturgess and Gortz's book and be done with it.

If 'fall in love' means he's considering purchasing a collectible Luger, I agree he should go straight to the Sturgess book set. IMO anyone considering any collectible Luger should get Sturgess as their starter library.

I think he had better start from the fundamentals, reading something like : "The Luger Story" by John Walther.
