Interarms 6" "Swiss Style" Mauser Luger
Hello Luger folks, after 73 years I finally have my first (and probably my last) Luger. I wasn't interested in wartime provenance Lugers, instead wanted one I could enjoy shooting. I hope one of you can help me out identifying my 7.65 (30) Luger. As title to this post indicates, mine is an Interarms "Swiss Style" American Eagle "Original Mauser. No box but upon field stripping the piece, blue-wear on the rails indicate VERY FEW rounds fired. No external scrapes, scratches or high-spot thinning of the blue. Serial # 10.001959. Anyone out there help with a date of manufacture?

Welcome to the forum!
the serial number can be traced actually to an exact date - Vlim will hopefully see this Ed |
Ed is correct that Vlim can give you a specific date. From what you've described, it sounds like a 1972 production gun but don't take that as gospel.

Hi, your model 29/70 was made around January-Februari, 1971.
It was shipped to Interarms on the 31st of March, 1971. The contents of shipping crate 35 which contained your luger are mentioned on page 310 of our book 'The Parabellum Is Back!'. |
Mauro Baudino should be able to certify this luger, as the data on it is available.

Congrats on your purchase of a Mauser Parabellum with a 6" bbl. I also own one, except mine is a P08 model(06/73) with a 6" bbl. It is a good shooter, and more accurate than I am. Enjoy, and give us a range report.

Congratulations - I also got a 'new' one to shoot first 10-002236
The 10- prefix indicates .30 Luger. An 11- prefix indicates 9mm For ammo try ammoseek.com - I have used PPU ammo which works well until I got dies to reload Lot of fun - glorious gun until the addiction gets you |
Hello,
Just to inform that both Mauser Parabellum mentioned above serial numbers: 10.001959 10.002236 are available in the Original Mauser Ledgers of the period, therefore I can release a certificate providing the entry of the Mauser production book with the related information. Additional information about the certification service is available here: http://www.lugerlp08.com/mauser%20pa...tification.htm For any question you can contact me here: mauser.archive@gmail.com Greetings, Mauro |
