First One - 1936 S/42
Ok guys, I have seen many postings of everyones beauties, now I present my first Luger. I would welcome any opinions, positive or negative on this weapon. I am looking to get this Luger re-done to make it an authentic shooter, any advice is of course welcome.

By having it re-done? Do you mean, have it re-stored to a blue finish? If so, check with "Thor". Look under "Restoration". He does outstanding work. He can make it look like new. It's unfortunate that someone saw fit to have it plated. Looks like it was in nice condition. It's "purty" the way it is, but any collector value is gone. A restoration would replace a considerable amount of the value. What is the Ser# letter suffix?
Regards, Ron |
thanks for the reply ron. I am indeed thinking of having Thor redo the finsih to original. I realize this is a shooter, but I want it closer to original. The suffix is K. The only part that did not have a matching serial number was the sear bar. I would love to get lucky enough to have someone on this forum site say "HEH I have a sear bar with 33 on it"!!
|
Tiberius, Check here for sear bar. And place a WTB on the bottom Wanted forum. It's a good possibility someone may have one.
hellerarms@webtv.net Good Luck! Ron |
Ron, Thanks for the referal. Unforutunately, no #33 Mauser sear bar in stock at the moment. TH
|
Tom, No problem, any time!
Ron |
I checked my parts stash and no 33 on der sear!
|
Ted, Sorry! I did'nt know you sold parts.Or I would have refered to you as a possibility also.
Ron |
Ron, I really dont but my buddy Don Hamilton has left a bunch of them over here and if I hear someone needs something and I have it, then they can work a deal with him. He has at least half a dozen of almost everything but frames. I scavange this bin of parts when I need them in trade for Luger work on his guns (wait until you see his American Eagle Artillery) But mostly I buy my parts from Mr Tom Heller, he has saved my bacon a lot of times.

Ted,
Did you receive my email with the questions about restoration? |
Yes sir, I did and I responded last monday the 8th. I will resend my response to your email address. Looks like you have two email addresses, this time, I sent my response to both!
Please let me know if you got it! Thanks! |
