DWM Luger Identification
7 Attachment(s)
I have what I believe is a early 1900's American Eagle? I did some research and that's what it appears anyway. I would love for someone with more knowledge that I, to confirm what it is. Thanks in advance for your expertise. The only part of the gun that does not appear to match is the magazine.

You have a pre-WW1 commercial Luger made by DWM for export to the United States. It appears to be in relatively nice condition and I'm guessing it's in .30 caliber as most made in that time period were.
Note the "lazy" crown/N proof mark. Post WW1 guns have a "standing" Crown/N proof. The American Eagle Lugers are beautifully made and quite collectible. |
Your American Eagle Luger is a model 1906.

Thank you both very much. I know its hard to tell the value due to many variables. But any idea what it may be worth? And yes it is .30 Luger.

Magazine should have a blank base, commercial lugers like this one did not have numbered mags.
There are a lot of 1906 models out there with the AE crest, I'd reduce the estimate above by some few hundred $$. |
