Possible PO8 Purchase

Always wanted a Luger but know very little and now I must make a quick decision. Does this appear to be worth $1k. Seller say it is a bring back and all numbers match.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum!
The finish looks original and if all the numbered parts do indeed match I would rate it as a low-end collectible. It should look better after a careful cleaning, and i would think that $1,000.00 is a fair price.

I would agree with Norme’s assessment. $1000 is a reasonable price if the gun is indeed all matching. Especially if the magazine is matching as a part of that.

Agreed that $1000 is reasonable. A holster or spare mag. would sweeten the pot. The left grip is chipped from careless removal, but is discretely repairable. Also the takedown lever retaining spring appears to be missing but is easily replaced and is not a numbered part. Photos of the bottom, just ahead of the trigger guard, would help.

Mirion,

What condition is the bore in?

Thanks!

Sieger

Haven't actually seen the gun so I do not know about the bore yet.

Thanks for all the input guys, it sounds like it isn't the deal I thought it was. I will let you know what transpires.

For what it is worth, I think that $1000 is a fair price. It isn't a bargain, but it it is far from unreasonable. Imperial Lugers that have not been messed with do not come up that often. But, perhaps there is a bit of room for negotiation if you want to press for a little better deal.
