Side catch

Was looking at some local auctions and came across this lot. Seemed to go slow, so I put a small bid on it.

And won :jumper:

These guns are considered antiques over here and don't require further registration. Think I will have some fun dissecting, cleaning and fixing them.

The pocket colt copies are Belgian made, .35 caliber.
One is marked 'F. Dumoulin & Co' from Liège. Both have faint traces of old nickel plating and engravings.

The Lefaucheux is a 9mm pinfire revolver with bakelite grips.

Think they will clean up nicely, and for the amount paid it's a no-brainer investment wise.

Well, that was short lived. The seller just informed me 'they were sold in the shop by mistake' ....

Not amused...

Sounds to me like the seller didn't get the amount of money he wanted from the auction so he is fraudulently voiding the sale. Doubt that you have any recourse but the auction house should have some concerns.

I informed the auction house about it.

Looks like I have a bad time. Just received a C96 stock that was offered as an original with repro leather. But the stock is also an older reproduction. And about 2" too long...

Oh, well. Part of the game I guess. Sonetimes a hunch pays off, sometimes you get bitten.

Think I'll cut it in half to go with my cutaway C96
