byf grip question
Is there any way to determine if a pair of wood grip I removed from my byf 41 are correct even with no markings? I at first assumed they were repos, but at a closer look it seems they may have been re-conditioned? There are holes drilled on the backside for a screw to hang. The checkering is crisp but the edges show little ware.
I just want to be sure before I toss them to the back of my tool box! I have a pic but my server is down. |
Nomadr,
my understanding is that if there are holes they should be repros, I have been wondering about my friends byf P08 which is a 42 and dont have markings ore even just the last 2 digits of the gun number and this pice is 99+ condition not reworked - but the fact in your grips with the holes, I would say they are repros. |
Robert, it is my belief that all wooden grips for the byf series should contain the last two digits of the serial number or a Waffenamt Mark or both. Hope this helps!!

Thanks again guys! To the tool box they go!

Nomadr, The repro wood PO8 grips with a hole drilled into the center of the inside of each side, are the Italian made grips sold by CDNN and other for around $20/set. These generally have a thickness on the edges (checkering does not touch grip straps) that the originals do not. TH
