?? Model 1910 Mauser Pistol Holster Stock (Prototype) - Value Idea.
 

Would anyone in the Forum have some idea as to the value of an original Model 1910 Mauser Pistol Wood Holster Stock in Good condition with a few dings and minor scratches. I believe only a few prototypes were made by Mauser possible 10 pieces in all. The design was never put into production. I am interested in acquiring such a stock for my early Model 1910 Mauser Pocket Pistol. Model

Why would anyone contemplate a "shoulder" stock for a 6,35mm pocket pistol?

Please show us good clear photos of the butt and connection ends of this "stock"

Not me, but perhaps those who have not only contemplated, but have built a baby artillery model? They make me scratch my bald head too...:confused:

All I know is that a similar stock used to be in the Sturgess collection.

The model 1910 is just about the only .25 pistol that is more useful than the normal pocket pistols and we have some accounts of its use in the trenches of WW1. It also saw quite a bit of police use, so an attempt to improve on its capabilities by adding a shoulder stock is actually not that strange as it seems at first.

Vlim, I was thinking the same thing and all I could imagine, is that a complex groove would have to be carved in the rear of the pistols wrap around wood grip, which I doubt would hold up to much shooting. TH

I think it somehow latches on to the magazine base, but that is also not the most ideal way.

This stock prototype appears in the Mauser book based on the Mauser Archives that Vlim and Mauro wrote and I helped edit.

It's on page 510-511 of my draft.

It attaches through what looks like a special slot in the magazine well.

The photo in the book came from Bas Martens / SAM Wappenmagazine.

The stock that is pictured in the book has the number "5" stenciled on it.

As to acquiring one, and it's value - it's unlikely that's been tested recently since there are so few to actually buy and sell.

Yes, that was the Sturgess stock iirc.

Longer barrel, bigger frame, higher magazine capacity.

Compared to the average .25 vest pocket, that is.

The pictured stock of the original poster looks like its the same one as the photo in our archive.

All the damaged areas match...
