broomhandle value?
 

I was looking at one at the swap meet this morning. the frame was pitted, guns been blued, 7.63 I'm thinking maybe a bolo but not too sure. no serial number on the back of the frame, that's how much I think it was polished. the barrel looked good, seller was firm at 650. good , okay deal?

Seems too high to me - but depends on the buyer?

Bore condition?
I've seen at least one that had essentially no chamber left, a .30 mauser round went in too deep to be reached by the firing pin!

bore looked really good. I had $575 dollars on me and probably would have bought it at that price because I tend to be a impulsive buyer.But I was going to have to run to the atm and that gave me a little breather to really look and think what I was buying. it did have a reproduction holster and leather rig ($50 on ebay) But i did learn from reading about old collectable guns, it's all about condition, and when it comes time to sell, finding a buyer for a pretty but beater gun is a few and far between. Too bad it wasnt a reblued P08, I would have grabbed it for sure. jim

I don’t think that was a bad price.

They are not out there anymore, the piles of surplus ones as seen in the 90s or so will never be seen again.

The bluing has a little value, for someone looking for a decent shooter this was probably a good candidate, especially so since these old surplus ones were all pretty much imported with shot out bores and no bluing and at least a fair amount of pitting.

I have looked at prices on broomhandle off and on the last few months and of course the nice ones are pretty pricey, but even the well worn beaters are right up there, and probably not getting any cheaper.

Yes, prices are raising these days. I've been on the hunt for a few months, and I realize that I will either have to spend more than I'd planned, or I'll just go without unless and until a deal comes along.
Bolo models bring significantly less money.

I probably would have bought the pistol if I didnt already have a mismatched full size broomy bored to a 9mm. I do have his number but just bought another old rifle at a yard sale today
