1902 Carbine Stock Question...

I am not familiar with a carbine stock with that cheek piece...

Hi Pete,

The Cheek piece is an after-market add on. You will see a lot of non-factory things on carbines if you see a lot of them...amazing what people spent money doing trying to improve something that was damn near perfect.

Tom and Pete,
Back in the 50's I was a Licensed Gunsmith and had ocassion to add this type of add on "Cheek Booster", as we called them then, to several Rifles and Shotguns.
It was the easy way to raise and position the eye for rapid target acquisition.
there were many guns that just were not suited for the thin cheeked person, and this was the quickest fix.
In addition It Worked wonders for the Dove hunters in lining up on the the passing bird.
