Tool stamping?

I encountered this loading tool at a gun show today. Can anyone advise me what the stamping is about? I have never seen anything like it before. Is it rare? Thank you for your help.

Eugen,

I do not pretend to be an expert on tools but the proof in your pictures was used on early K-dates. Up to SN 3000 or so.

If authentic it is a rare tool. The problem with early Mauser era tools is that the early tools were parts carried over from DWM and had DWM characteristics. The shape and finish were changed when Mauser started making the tools themselves. Some of the early tools were issued in the white which further complicates the issue.

Lots of replicas have been seen.

This tool has the body shape of a DWM tool which falls in line with Mauser using up DWM stocks.

The tool looks correct. The follower button flange is correct and the stamp looks lightly struck. I would call it correct until an actual tool expert says otherwise.

What's the back story? Did you buy it?

John, Jerry, thank you for your informative responses. I will add that the tool was in this holster's pocket. The Luger in this rig was a 20ish commercial DWM.

Looks like a hard to find 0-37 K date tool. Here is one that I have. Most of the ones I have seen are lightly stamped.
